About Vettica

The short version

If you sell products or services to veterinary practices, you need accurate contact data. You need to know which practices are active, who the decision-makers are, what specialty they focus on, and how to reach them.

Generic B2B databases like ZoomInfo and Apollo weren't built for this. They can't distinguish a vet clinic from a pet groomer. They don't verify DVM licenses. They don't segment by equine vs. small animal vs. exotic.

Vettica was built specifically to solve this problem. We source data from state veterinary licensing boards, cross-reference against AVMA directories and DEA registrations, and verify every email and phone number before delivery.

How we got here

Vettica is part of the Provyx family of data products. Provyx builds verified healthcare provider data across dozens of specialties. We built Vettica as a dedicated brand for the animal health market because veterinary data has unique sourcing requirements that don't fit neatly into a general healthcare data product.

State veterinary licensing boards publish data differently than medical boards. The specialty taxonomy is different. The buyer ecosystem (pharma, equipment, insurance, recruiting) has different needs. Vettica exists because this market deserves a purpose-built solution, not a healthcare data product with "veterinary" tacked on as an afterthought.

Our team

Vettica is led by Rome Thorndike, who built the data infrastructure at Datajoy (acquired by Databricks) and has held data roles at Microsoft, Salesforce, and Snapdocs. He holds an MBA from UC Berkeley Haas.

The team has deep experience in data operations, B2B enrichment, and healthcare provider intelligence. We've built data pipelines that serve companies from Series A startups to Fortune 500 enterprises.

What we believe

Data quality matters more than data quantity. A list of 500 verified, license-confirmed DVMs with accurate emails beats a list of 5,000 unverified contacts with 20% bounce rates. Every time.

We don't sell platforms. We don't lock you into annual contracts. We build the data, verify it, and send it to you. That's the business model. If the data is good, you'll come back. If it isn't, you shouldn't have to.

How verification works, step by step

First, the population: we pull licensed DVMs from all fifty state boards plus DC, on each board's publication cycle. Second, practice matching: each veterinarian is tied to a current practice location using board addresses, business registrations, and AVMA directory data, with conflicts resolved to the most recent authoritative source. Third, contact verification: emails are tested against live mail servers within 48 hours of delivery and phone numbers are checked against active carrier records. Fourth, classification: practices get a specialty designation across 8 categories and 30+ subtypes, from licensing specialization data and practice focus analysis.

Records that fail any step either ship flagged or don't ship. That's the entire quality system, and it's why we can put a deliverability number in writing.
